2. How Haloop uses cookies and similar technologies
2.1 Cookies
To ensure the website operates normally, we sometimes store small data files called cookies on your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a plain text file stored on your computer or mobile device by a web server. The contents of a cookie can only be retrieved or read by the server that created it. Each cookie is unique to your web browser or mobile application. Cookies typically contain an identifier, site name, and some numbers and characters. Through cookies, a website can store user preferences or items in a shopping cart.
Haloop enables cookies for the same reasons as most websites or internet service providers: to improve user experience. With cookies, a website can remember a user’s one-time visit (using session cookies) or multiple visits (using persistent cookies). Cookies can retain settings such as language, font size, and other browsing preferences on your computer or mobile device. This means users do not have to reset preferences each time they visit. If a website does not use cookies, it treats each visit as a new visitor. For example, if you log into a website and then go to another page, the site will not recognize you and you may be logged out again. Haloop will not use cookies for any purposes other than those described in this policy. You can manage or delete cookies according to your preferences. You can clear all cookies stored on your computer, and most browsers have features to block cookies. However, if you do so, you will need to manually change your settings each time you visit our website.
2.2 Web beacons and pixel tags
In addition to cookies, we also use other similar technologies on our website, such as web beacons and pixel tags. For example, an email we send may contain a link to Haloop website content. If you click that link, Haloop may track the click to help us understand your product and service preferences and improve customer service. A web beacon is usually a transparent image embedded in a website or email. Through pixel tags in email, we can know whether an email has been opened. If you do not want your activity to be tracked in this way, you can unsubscribe from Haloop's mailing list at any time.
By using our website, you agree to the use of cookies, web beacons, and pixel tags as described above.
3. How Haloop discloses your personal information
Haloop generally does not disclose your personal information externally, except in the following situations:
(1) In cases where certain services are provided by authorized partners of Haloop, Haloop may share your personal information with those partners as described in this policy. For example, when we authorize partners to handle hotlines, send emails, or provide technical support on behalf of Haloop, we require them to use your personal information only to provide services on behalf of Haloop.
(2) We may disclose personal information among Haloop affiliates. We will only disclose your information within Haloop affiliates for specific, clear, and lawful purposes, and only the information necessary to provide the service. For example, when registering a Haloop account, we may need to verify the uniqueness of the account to prevent duplicate registrations.
(3) Haloop may also disclose your personal information to relevant law enforcement agencies or other government authorities when required by applicable law or in response to legal processes. In certain jurisdictions, if Haloop is involved in reorganization, merger, bankruptcy, or liquidation proceedings, your personal information may also be disclosed to transaction parties.
(4) Haloop may also disclose your data when there is a reasonable need, such as to perform a contract or when we believe disclosure is necessary and appropriate to prevent bodily injury, property damage, or investigate potential or actual unlawful activity.
4. Your rights in personal information processing activities
You should ensure that all personal information you submit is accurate and complete. Haloop will endeavor to maintain the accuracy and completeness of personal information and update this data in a timely manner.
Subject to applicable legal requirements, you may

(2) have the right to request that we correct or delete inaccurate personal information;
(3) refuse or limit our use of your personal information;
(4) request that we delete your personal information;
(5) request an explanation of our personal information processing rules.
To ensure security, you may need to provide a written request. We will verify your identity in accordance with local legal requirements. If we have reasonable grounds to believe that these requests are fraudulent, impracticable, or harmful to others’ privacy rights, we will refuse to process them.
Where permitted by applicable law, if Haloop processes your personal information based on your consent, you also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness or validity of our processing of your personal information based on your consent before withdrawal, nor does it affect our processing of your personal information on other lawful bases.
5. How Haloop protects and retains your personal information
Haloop values the security of personal information. We use appropriate physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, alteration, damage, or loss. For example, we use encryption technology to ensure data confidentiality; protective mechanisms to prevent malicious attacks; access control mechanisms to ensure only authorized personnel can access personal information; and we conduct security and privacy training to strengthen employees’ awareness of the importance of protecting personal information. We will do our best to protect your personal information, but please note that no security measure is perfect.
We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Because retention periods may vary depending on different scenarios, products, and services, the criteria we use to determine retention periods include: the time needed to retain personal information to complete the business purpose, including providing products and services, maintaining relevant transaction and business records, managing and improving product and service performance and quality, ensuring the security of systems, products, and services, and responding to possible user inquiries or complaints, troubleshooting, etc.; whether the user consents to a longer retention period; and whether law or contract imposes special data retention requirements. As long as your account is necessary to provide you services, we will retain your registration information. You may also choose to cancel your account. After you cancel your account, we will stop providing products and services based on that account and, absent any legal requirements to the contrary, delete or anonymize the personal information associated with it.
6. How Haloop handles personal information of minors
Our products, websites, and services are primarily intended for adults. Children (minors under 14 years old) may not create their own user accounts without the consent of a parent or guardian. For cases where children’s personal information is collected with parental consent, we will only use or disclose such data as permitted by law, with explicit consent from the parent or guardian, or as necessary to protect the child. If Haloop discovers that it has collected a child’s personal information without verifiable parental consent, it will attempt to delete the relevant data as soon as possible.
7. Third-party providers and their services
To ensure a smooth browsing experience, you may receive content or web links provided by third parties outside of Haloop and its partners (hereinafter referred to as “third parties”). Haloop has no control over such third parties. You may choose whether to access links, content, products, and services provided by third parties.
Haloop cannot control the privacy and data protection policies of third parties, and such third parties are not bound by this policy. Before submitting personal information to a third party, please review that third party’s privacy policy.
8. How your personal information is transferred globally
Haloop is a multinational company, which means the personal information we collect may be processed in the country or region where you use the products or services, or in other countries or regions where Haloop, its affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, or business partners have operations, or may be accessed from those countries or regions. The data protection laws in those countries or regions may differ. In such cases, Haloop will take measures to ensure the data we collect is processed in accordance with this policy and applicable laws. For example, when personal information of data subjects located in the EU is transferred to countries or regions that do not have an equivalent level of data protection recognized by the EU, Haloop will use legal mechanisms such as signing Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or request your consent for cross-border transfer of personal information, or implement data anonymization or other security measures before the cross-border transfer. Personal information collected and processed in the People’s Republic of China will be stored within the People’s Republic of China.
9. How this policy is updated
Haloop reserves the right to update or revise this policy from time to time. If our privacy policy changes, we will post the latest version here. If we make material changes to the privacy policy, we may also notify you through different channels, such as posting a notice on our website or issuing a separate notice to you.
